Susie was called to yoga in 2002. The injurious life of a professional ballet dancer lead her to yoga as a way to heal her body and continue to express herself through movement.
Susie began her yoga studies with Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini (Maya Yoga) in 2008. In 2011/2012 Susie moved to Maui to manage Maya Yoga and devote herself to her yoga studies. She studied extensively with Nicki and Eddie and completed 4 Maya Yoga Teacher Training courses. In 2013 Susie completed her 500hr Moksha Yoga teacher training. In 2018 Susie completed 100hrs of Advanced Vinyasa Krama teacher training with Srivatsa Ramaswami. These various yoga studies have credited her over 2000hrs of teacher training, which have, in turn, inspired a devotion to sharing her studies for over a decade.
Susie has been teaching yoga for 12 years. Her yoga experience includes Ashtanga yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Yin yoga and Restorative yoga. This vast range of yoga modalities coupled with her dance experience lead her to create her own style ~ Mocean Yoga.
Susie has been an inspiration in her communities teaching regular yoga classes as well as retreats and Yoga teacher trainings in Canada, Hawaii, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
Through her own experiences, Susie has come to understand that Yoga is more than just a physical connection. Yoga is a life support system that enables us to cultivate balance and union of body, mind and heart which supports us in navigating our everyday existence with more integration, ease and grace.
Mocean Yoga is Susie’s way of offering you the tools to put your Manifestations in Mocean ~ Leveraging her own light to help you stand in your light and embody your highest self ~ your highest self being the self you love the most ♡
As an occupational therapist Natalie believes that quality of life is created through meaningful engagement in the activities that make up our days. She feels that the current health care system has some amazing strengths and that it can only be strengthened by the use of complementary practices – such as yoga – that have existed for thousands of years.
Natalie was first introduced to yoga during her training as a dancer. Several years later in 2004, after being diagnosed with a genetic heart condition she fell in love with it.
She trusts in the healing potential of this practice as it has been vital in both re-creating her own health and her work as an occupational therapist.
Natalie feels passionate that we are here for each other and her reverence for human biology (and its magic!) guides her to work and practice with kindness in order to restore strength and integrity to the body, mind, and spirit. She believes there are therapeutic secrets hidden in all aspects of Yoga.
Originally attracted to Yoga as a replacement for her main form of physical exercise, dance. The practice immediately began transforming her from a place of confusion, delusion and fear to a place of calm, clarity, and true love for herself and life. After completing her first Yoga teacher training in India in 2009, she began studying, working, and living with a teacher in Hawaii, where she also immersed herself in the study and practice of Ayurveda.
For over a decade she has conducted, supported, and taught at innumerable trainings including Yoga teacher trainings, Ayurvedic Chef trainings, and Ayurvedic treatment trainings in Hawaii, India, and New Zealand. She has mentored many students through their professional Ayurveda studies and provided ongoing mentorship for counsellors, teachers and practitioners and is head of the Ayurveda faculty of Bindu Institute for Learning, a Spain based multi-modality school.
Kelsey is a yogini whose extensive training and dedication to her practice and ongoing studies continue to expand the intuitive insight she shares. She is a perpetual student of life, and her authenticity, openness, understanding, enthusiasm and love of Ayurveda, Yoga and natural healing has inspired many to start, continue or deepen their paths to health, vitality, and living their inner truth.
