Mocean Remedy is the first of three 100hr Mocean Yoga continuing education intensives that will support those who already have their 200hr certification with the opportunity to deepen and advance their training, personal practice and teaching. These intensives can be taken individually, or complete all three for your 300hr advanced yoga teacher training certification. (Dates for the following two advanced trainings to be announced by December 2019).
ABOUT YOUR CERTIFICATION AND MOCEAN YOGA REMEDY EXPERIENCE
The Mocean Yoga Remedy is the first of these advanced offerings as the remedies and therapeutics of yoga are the holistic tricks of the trade that can take humanities healing to the next level. Led by Susie Newson, Natalie Bishop, and Diana Newson the course will focus on modifying yoga to support diverse populations and teach you how to make yoga accessible to everyone. Included will be the opportunity to refine your personal practice and learn how to heal yourself at a deep and profound level through the remedies of your yoga practice.

This is a 1 week 100HR advanced intensive course is meant for those with 200hr certificates to build on their certifications and/or work towards receiving a 300hr Yoga Alliance recognized Yoga Teacher Training Certification.

Nestled in the woods of Royston, BC you will find a magical oasis known as Mermaid Manor. This is where we will retreat for our intensive. Here you will find our cozy yoga studio that will hold space for our practices and lectures. Our open concept dining and lounge room provides all the luxuries you need to unwind and integrate. Allow our Certified Culinary Nutritionist to nourish and take care of you with breakfast and lunch. Our west coast home has all comforts and charm you need to feel supported and safe on your transformational journey.
Who should take this training?
This training is designed for those who have already completed a 200hr yoga teacher training, and are looking to deepen their understanding of some of the more therapeutic applications of the practice. Yoga can be made accessible to virtually anyone, and both Susie Newson and Natalie Bishop have extensive experience in adapting the practice to support a broad diversity of people. If you are looking for a training to support and advance your understanding of seeing and understanding bodies, modifying yoga for common injuries and physical limitations, and having the opportunity to dive deep into your own practice – join us!
What to Expect
This training will include hands on experience, practice, self study, and 80 contact hours with the lead teachers. The remaining 20hrs to make up 100hrs total will be completed through assigned readings prior to the training, from a required reading list that will be announced soon. There are only 10 spaces in this training, so you can expect to have support and attention from your lead teachers who are committed to your growth and evolution.

Susie was called to yoga in 2002. The injurious life of a professional ballet dancer led her to yoga as a way to heal her body while continuing to express herself through movement. Yoga became more than a healing system and form of expression. For Susie, yoga was a life support system that offered the tools to cultivate a more intimate relationship with herself. Yoga continues to support her in navigating this wild journey we call life with more peace, grace and ease.
Susie began her yoga studies with Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini (Maya Yoga) in 2008. She studied extensively with Nicki and Eddie and completed four Maya Yoga Teacher Training courses, including Maya Yoga’s 500hr YTT. In 2010 Susie organized and coordinated Maya Yoga’s first Canadian Yoga Teacher Training in Kelowna, BC.[nbsp_tc] In 2011/2012 Susie accepted the invitation to live on Maui with Nicki and Eddie. There, she devoted herself to her yoga studies while managing Maya Yoga. Her passion led her to coordinate and sell out Maya Yoga’s first 500hr Yoga Teacher Training course. In 2013 Susie completed her 500hr Moksha Yoga teacher training and was an integral part of the Moksha Yoga Kelowna sangha for over four years. Most recently, Susie completed 100hrs of Advanced Vinyasa Krama teacher training with Srivatsa Ramaswami. These various yoga studies have credited her over 2000hrs of teacher training, which have, in turn, inspired a devotion to sharing her studies for the past decade.
In 2012 Susie founded Mocean Yoga. Her intention and passion behind the vision of Mocean Yoga were to leverage her own light to help you stand in your light and embody your fullest expression. Susie has a profound love for creating yoga retreats and teacher training experiences in Canada, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and around the world that offer the tools to put your Manifestations in Mocean and live out your most magnificent existence. In 2016 Susie was drawn back to her roots on Vancouver Island. Here she answered the call to build and open the doors to Mocean Yoga Studio; a space in which others are encouraged to explore, experience and live their fullest expression through yoga.
As an occupational therapist Natalie believes that quality of life is created through meaningful engagement in the activities that make up our days. She feels that the current health care system has some amazing strengths and that it can only be strengthened by the use of complementary practices – such as yoga – that have existed for thousands of years.
Natalie was first introduced to yoga during her training as a dancer. Several years later in 2004, after being diagnosed with a genetic heart condition she fell in love with it. She trusts in the healing potential of this practice as it has been vital in both re-creating her own health and her work as an occupational therapist.
[br_tc]Natalie feels passionately that we are here for each other and her reverence for human biology (and its magic!) guides her to work and practice with kindness in order to restore strength and integrity to the body, mind and spirit. She believes there are therapeutic secrets hidden in all aspects Yoga.
Diana is is a dreamer, creator, lover, adventurer and most commonly known as the Culinary Goddess on the Mocean Yoga team.
[br_tc]Her yogic journey began deep in the jungle of Maui with Nicki Doane And Eddie Modestini at Maya Yoga. Shortly after this time on Maui, she headed south to Nicaragua were she dropped deep into a 200 hour[nbsp_tc]intensive teacher training with Julia Mccabe. Diana began her voyage as a teacher in Revelstoke, where she was able to combine her passion for snow sports and yoga.
[br_tc]In 2015 Diana followed the whispers of her heart to the shores of Bali on an adventure around South East Asia, the time spent away prompted the purchase of what is now known as the Mocean Yoga Head Quarters. The studio now serves as a platform to share the gift of yoga to the people she loves. Most recently Diana completed a skill in action advanced teacher training with Natalie Rousseau, this was an opportunity to find new inspiration for opening the doors of the Mocean Yoga studio in January 2017.
Diana believes that yoga is a masterful dance that allows you to create a stronger connection of mind body and breathe. Moving through the ebbs and flows towards a greater state of consciousness. She aspires to create a supportive warm and welcoming experience for anyone who cares to roll out their mat and join her.
