Maui Retreat 2016 Recap

Every Maui retreat is so full and special, that it is often hard to imagine what the next one will look like. It is the truly

unforgettable magic of what happens on retreat, however, that keeps us coming back and feeling truly held by mumma

Maui.

With sixteen mermaids joining us for a week long adventure on the north shore, our last retreat to Maui was truly a gem.

Every room at double occupancy, and the sisterhood vibes fully intact, we were able to drop into a loving, community space

almost immediately.

From those just out of university to those newly entering retirement, the range of ages on this retreat added to the diverse

amount of learning we were able to experience from one another. Everyone was receptive, open, and supportive of each

others journeys – creating a container for transformation and free expression.

From inspiring and invigorating morning chants and vinyasa yoga with Susie, to calming and introspective element inspired

evening yin yoga with Piper, the bookended days of yoga left plenty of time and space to explore the north shore’s beaches

and boutiques, and most importantly to connect with one another.

Midweek, we challenged our comfort zones and went surfing, with our experienced guides at Maui True North. We of course

had a pre surf warm up Yoga class with Susie, followed by land training that left us feeling confident and ready to catch

some waves! We couldn’t resist the opportunity to tandem surf on our longboards. Post surf burritos on our private beach

were the perfect re-fuel and opportunity to soak in some of Maui’s legendary sunshine.

Another adventure day was sailing, with Sail Maui. This catamaran takes us on a journey around Maui’s west coast,

anchoring at an incredible snorkelling site. The crystal clear water also makes this an ideal location for underwater mermaid

photoshoots. After snorkelling, we enjoyed local Maui Brewing Company beer and pupu’s (appetizers) as the sun set over

the ocean. It is truly magical to spend the day on the water, and sailing offers some picturesque and unique views of Maui’s

coastline.

As always, this retreat flew by – but the memories and lessons learned will last a lifetime! We hope that you will join us in

Maui, so that we can show you all it has to offer!

With so much love,

Piper
